Benchmark equity indices are trading higher on Friday. The NSE Nifty 50 soared 0.78% to hit a fresh high of 20,291.55 during intra-day trade and is trading at 20,264.85, up 0.65%, while the BSE Sensex trades at 67,437.61, up 449.17 points. Midcap and Smallcap stocks are leading the gains among the broader indices. The Bank Nifty index is trading at 44,827.40, up 345.65 points or 0.78%. Media, PSU Bank, Metal, FMCG, and Financial Services stocks are leading the gains among the other sectoral indices with a surge of over 1% each, while IT and Auto stocks are facing a downward trend.
NTPC, ITC, Larsen & Toubro, Axis Bank and Britannia Industries are leading the gains on the NSE Nifty, while the laggards include Wipro, HDFC Life Insurance Company, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hero MotoCorp and HCL Tech.
Tata Tech, PFC, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, REC and Axis Bank are the most active stocks on the NSE.
